How IT Works Old

How Neutein Works

The powerful anti-oxidants found in Neutein yield key benefits in your life that includes improved multi-tasking, attention, short term memory, better sleep, enhancements in higher level thinking, and a greater ability to filter out dangerous blue light from your eyes.

The key to optimizing brain health, as we age, and reaping all the above benefits that Neutein provides is through controlling cellular oxidation. You can think of cellular oxidation as mini fires found in your brain cells that cause destruction wherever they go. Your body counteracts cellular oxidation with anti-oxidants, you can think of anti-oxidants as water used by your body to put out fires. Too much oxidation can start to hinder how your brain normally works (an example of this would be age-related memory loss).

When your body uses an anti-oxidant to quench these "oxidation fires", that antioxidant is used up and cannot be used again. Just as if you poured water on a fire, you can't use that same water again - you need to re-fill your bucket with new water!

The same thing happens with antioxidants. Once your body uses them to put out an "oxidation fire" it needs more anti-oxidants in order to put out the next one. This means that your body needs a constant supply of anti-oxidants to keep fighting all the "oxidation fires", keeping your brain as healthy as it can be.

The cumulative effects of aging, stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, and insufficient sleep and recovery all lead to an imbalance of free radicals (i.e. unstable molecules) in our brains. This imbalance can degrade the quality and function of the cells in our brains. Rosmarinic and salvianolic acid are two antioxidants found in Neutein that help protect against, and fight, free radicals allowing our brain cells to function at an optimal level. This cellular effect is seen in a clinical/real world setting as improvements in working memory which is "research scientist" speak for better multi-tasking

Because of Cerevan's™ impact on brain function, focus, and concentration researchers were concerned that it might negatively impact sleep (as most compounds that improve focus and attention are stimulants). So sleep was monitored in the second clinical trial. The researchers found that study participants taking one of the ingredients found in Cerevan™ had an easier time getting to sleep. This is likely because research shows that antioxidants can stimulate pathways that increase levels of a neurotransmitter called GABA that is responsible for relaxation.

FloraGLO™, found in Cerevan™, has been shown in a clinical study at Tufts University to increase verbal fluency scores. The verbal fluency test is used by neurologist and neuropsychologists to measuring someone's executive brain function. Executive brain function includes the following cognitive skills: attentional control, inhibitory control, working memory, and cognitive flexibility, as well as reasoning, problem solving, and planning. FloraGLO™ provides the body with the dominate form of anti-oxidant/carotenoid (pre-cursor to vitamin A) in the brain. Because of its unique molecular structure FloraGLO™ is able to insert itself into the membranes of our brain cells and provide protection against neuronal degradation from free radical while also optimizing the function of our brain cell membranes allowing for improved overall function of these cells.

The anti-oxidants found in Cerevan™ may also help your body retain and use more acetylcholine by blocking the enzymes that break it down. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that plays a very important role in the formation of memories in our brains. Specifically research with acetylcholine shows that its enhancements cognitive function are related to working memory (compared to other types of memory such as long term memory).

FloraGLO™, found in Cerevan™, is a proprietary (and one of the most rigorously studied) form of the carotenoid, lutein. Lutein is unique because it is concentrated in the retina if your eye. Research studies thus show that higher concentrations of lutein in your retina help filter out blue light before it gets into your body/brain. Blue light is emitted from laptops, tablets, LED lights, and more in our environment. It has a relatively high energy and longer wavelengths that can penetrate tissue deeper than UV light. FloraGLO™ found in Cerevan™ has been shown to have a protective effect against the determential effects of blue light.
